Being able to make an appointment online was very helpful. The woman who signed me into service and notified me when service was completed was very nice. As far as I can tell the service was performed properly. Two areas could use improvement: 1) I wanted a 12,000 mile service as specified in my car's (2010 Dodge Charger SRT8) owner's manual. Hilltop's system pushed me into a 15,000 mile service according to Hilltop's own script; one which needed some notations and additions by me to fit the 12,000 mile service as described in my owner's manual. There is no reason why Hilltop should not have in its computer system service schedules that correspond exactly to those in the user manuals of recent model Dodge cars brought in for service and be ready at the time of entry of the car to do exactly what is specified in the owner's manual. Pushing me into your own script rather that the one specified in my manual and making me educate you on the differences between your script and the manual's script reduces my confidence in Hilltop's service. I felt compelled to explain that the tires cannot be rotated as usual, which oils are permissible, that a cabin air-filter needed to be replaced, etc.. I am not a car expert and don't like being put into the position of having to tell your garage how to service my car. Though everything turned out all right in the end the uncertainty and potential for improper service reduces my reasons to return to Hilltop for service. 2) The waiting area is not at all conducive to getting work done with no work area, no place to set up and plug in a laptop, and the television on all the time. You need a separate office-like area for people who want to get work done in the hours during which their car is serviced. If you were to fix the second problem I would still be willing to recommend Hilltop to a friend despite the first problem. Even with that improvement I may not return due to the first problem — If I am going to have to tell your shop how to service my car I might as well have it serviced by a good mechanic more local to me.
