It was not in my itinerary to go to the Keys alone BUT I ended up there as all my friends were busy working, boo! So I wanted some good exhilarating outdoors sports, paddle boarding, snorkeling, sun bathing, yes that counts & fishing. Fishing alone could be a bit intimidating, especially for me, female, alone, not knowing where to go & the ins & outs of hiring a charter. Luckily I was directed to the right group. Bamboo Charters in Islamorada! Captain Matt Bellinger was amazing & I must say if you are ever in the Keys you need to look him up them up! He was hospitable, filled with knowledge, polite, fun, and just a great partner to have out on the waters. He was entertaining & I must say I truly had the best time fishing ever! I caught a few spotted trout, some other fish called Jack something or other, PLUS I battled a Lemon shark! no joke! I have video! In any case some of the nicest people that have crossed my path. Matt was Great! Don't miss out. Look them up, and as the Bamboo Charter card says “Go FISH”.
