Review content:
Extremely unhelpful. I came to him having felt sluggish for months, and with a testosterone level around 200 (which is VERY low for a man my age). He said it was insulin resistance which he was a pioneer of, and said that all i could do about it was eat better and rest. I'm 39 years old - I don't think I should be needing mid-day naps. He also told me I was obese (200 lbs, 6'1"", 35 waist - overweight maybe, but I don't think that is obese). When I asked about testosterone gels, he told me he doesn't ever prescribe them and doesn't believe they do anything. I took his advice and after six weeks, literally could not get through the day without falling asleep at work mid-day and spent the whole weekend sleeping. I went to THREE doctors after this, each told me that I should be on the testosterone gel and to not to even consider it was irresponsible of Dr. Maclaren. Borderline malpractice because it can create other problems. I think Dr. Maclaren is a nice enough guy but he doesn't seem to keep up with modern medicine and biology.
