Review content:
The Johns Hopkins University is not for everyone. In reference to this school, I've said to more than one person that you don't pick Hopkins, Hopkins picks you. Aside from actually making the admissions cut, the workload and academic rigor creates a sink-or-swim atmosphere. I found the university both intellectually challenging and socially refreshing. Though it definitely gets a bad reputation for its workaholic students, many of the students pursue active roles in social justice, theater, community service, sports, and music. Slackers need not apply to this school, because they won't be able to keep up. Small class size and an overall small student body give the campus an intimate feel; while I wouldn't say the social scene is bustling, there are plenty of opportunities to fill in your free time exploring Baltimore.
