A Great Learning Institution 2/18/2006

Our daughter spent four wonderful years at this University. It is not for sports minded students. Academics takes the forefront. Small, intimate campus in Northern Baltimore. Although located in a city, the campus has very good security. Professors go out of their way to help students learn. Dorm rooms are average. Learning capabilities are endless for those students who want to go the extra mile. Although expensive, it is money well spent for one's children's education. A degree from this university opens the doors to all kinds of opportunities. more

A world-class research university 2/17/2006

The Johns Hopkins University is not for everyone. In reference to this school, I've said to more than one person that you don't pick Hopkins, Hopkins picks you. Aside from actually making the admissions cut, the workload and academic rigor creates a sink-or-swim atmosphere. I found the university both intellectually challenging and socially refreshing. Though it definitely gets a bad reputation for its workaholic students, many of the students pursue active roles in social justice, theater, community service, sports, and music. Slackers need not apply to this school, because they won't be able to keep up. Small class size and an overall small student body give the campus an intimate feel; while I wouldn't say the social scene is bustling, there are plenty of opportunities to fill in your free time exploring Baltimore. more

Education is the best. 8/18/2005

This university has the best studies and the best enviorement that a teenager needs in colleges. The Quality education and gr8 campus makes this university unique from the rest. This being the first research university in the US has new educational enterprise, helps students to advance their knowledge and is real leader in teaching. Helps and nurtures students in discovering their own abilities and helps them grow higher. more

Just as good as the Ivies... 8/16/2005

Johns Hopkins University is known for its challenging academic curriculum. Currently, it is ranked #15 by U.S. News and World Report among US colleges. Attending JHU has helped me not only mature but also gain a higher education. Their organization and timeliness is usually flawless. The only bad thing is that the safety and security of this school is under par. more
