Review content:
I think Steve's is a wonderful place. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. Yes, they do let you handle the animals here which, I think this is very important for a social animal. Whether it be a dog, bird, bunny , or ferret all these animals need interaction to be happy, healthy animals. I think some people who write these reviews are very ignorant in there thinking. If you ask me and you should (having a degree in animal management) Its good for these animals mental and physical well being to be handled. Obviously if you or your child is sick, DONT touch the animals. I think Steve is doing a wonderful think socializing the animals. There are rules as some below me might not realize. In order to play with a puppy you have to sanitize your hands and if the puppy you chose has been out to long they wont take it out for you. These puppies also do not come from a puppy mill. Most of the dogs are registered or are registrable for akc or others. They do not come directly from the breeder either. A company brings them to the store after they have been vet checked and chipped among other things. The puppies are very well taken cared for. They are exercised and given the best food on the market. Most if not all are on natures recipe (which comes from new zeland) and contains no hormones or additives. And for those against impulse buys...have you seen there prices for dogs??? As for the chickens they are rented not sold. After they rent is up they are sent to a egg laying farmer, they ARE NOT sold for meat. As for the dyed ones...big deal?!! that chick has no idea what color it should be or is. And its not hurting it in any way!! The tattoo fish are a bit much i'll admit but it doesnt hurt the fish. PETA just has it panties in bunch as always. (Just to be a informed consumer: PETA has no scientific community and are very anthropomorphic thinkers). All in all I have had very good service from Steve's!! I think other reviews are a little ignorant so before you dismiss Steves as a bad place, go there and ask questions. No staff member will refse to answer your questions! If you feel unsure about the animals well being or the process of the store, ask questions on why they do what they do, talk to Steve himself. Be a informed consumer!!! \r -willing to ask questions to answer yours
