Review content:
I lost a gas rigid contact lens and need a replacement. I contacted East Lake Eye Care (previously Bender Eye Care) and they shredded my medical records for the last 33 years because I have not been there for 5 years. I had no idea what my prescription was or the contract brand\model name. I have been wearing gas rigid contacts for 30 years. The rigid model allow my eyesight not to chance much over time, that is why I haven't need to get new contacts in 5 years. Anyway, Elliot at East Eye Care showed no compassion and wanted $200.00 for an exam and contact fitting. Needless to say, why would I pay $200 to someone that destroyed 33 years of eye care history? Per my conversation with other eye doctors, most are scanning records and storing them on CD’s to save space. My new eye doctor, Dr. Claffie, said that I would not need to worry about her eye care facility deleting my records for 10-15 years. So, the word of advice here is; if you value your medical history, I would not recommend going to East Lake Eye Care. They don’t care and that’s the bottom line.
