Some of the work Handyman Matters did was good and some was not. We had two jobs that the handyman did really well. One was installing a shelf in our closest. The original shelving had collapsed and the job was a difficult one. The second job was with the garage. I needed an access door panel to the GE unit that was near the ceiling. New hinges for the door were to be replaced so that the heating and cooling company had easier access. There were some jobs that didn't go so well. We had a door that goes from inside the house to outside the pool deck. The door latching sticks and I wanted it reconditioned to work right. The handyman didn't do much. He just tightened some screws on the door, which I could have done. I wanted the repairs to make the door good as new, but the fix was shoddy and cheap. It wasn't careful work. There was another time where we wanted a ceiling fan installed, but between the time we scheduled it and him coming over, we had changed our minds. We didn't purchase a ceiling fan and wanted him to do the rest of the work we had agreed on. He did that work, but also charged us time for the ceiling fan. I felt I was over charged. I'm not sure what their policy is, but he handed us a bill that had time and work on it that we didn't have him do. The weather striping on the bottom of the garage door was old. I asked the handyman to replace it. There was light showing through. I wanted the whole thing redone. He installed another one, but it's the cheapest thing. It tears like paper, is not big/thick, wasn't enough to close the gap, and didn't solve much of anything. I tried making adjustments to the strip, but it simply tore apart right when I got a hold of it. I was very disappointed by that job. I'll call back depending on what I need, but I'm hesitant. RESPONSE FROM Handyman Matters Jacksonville: Hi Gordon. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and bring this to our attention. We will be calling you to follow up. We want you to be 100 satisfied and if you're not happy, then we're not done with the job.
