Review content:
Most of the stores, especially Bloomies, were over-priced for the quality of products on display. Overall impression was one of an upscale discount store however, without the discount prices or selection. Shreve Crump & Lowe was the only exception, although even that bastion of good taste and quality merchandise seems to be flagging with its altogether obvious attempt to appeal to an ever wider variety of consumer. My advice to SC&L: endeavor to keep your oldest and most loyal customers happy and you will thrive; or otherwise be doomed to "wholesale" mediocrity (pardon the pun). I will continue to do the lion's share of my discretionary spending in London. Bond Street shops have it all, quality, atmosphere, good help, and yes! -- VALUE! If you've really got the shopping bug, it's more than worth the cost of a plane ticket. Parking wasn't bad.
