Review content:
I had a very bad experience at Indian Lake Animal Clinic about a month and a half ago. I wanted to wait to write a review to see if I was just overreacting, but after more thought, I do not think I was. \r
\r
For starters, they are very overpriced. I went in for routine vaccinations for my 12 week old puppy and an ""exam and it was $115. They didn't even vaccinate him for something my other vet said was important. I say ""exam"" because all they did was look in his eyes. They did not feel his belly, look in his ears, take his weight or temperature... If you are paying $50 dollars for an exam, it should be a full exam. \r
\r
Secondly, the staff was not very inattentive to my puppy. No one greeted him (or me).We waited a long time to get called back (while me and my puppy watched the staff greet and pet other animals who came in the building). My puppy was shaking when the vet came in, but she continued on without trying to make him more comfortable. She handled him very rough. Then they gave him a ""complimentary nail cutting."" They took him to another room where I could hear him yelping, barking, growling, etc. When he came back, every nail was quicked (and I mean EVERY nail) The vet assistant (the vet never came back) told me how horribly he did and that we really needed to work on him not getting aggressive when someone touches his paws. My husband and I had already successfully cut his nails with NO problems and we make a point to touch his paws ALL the time - so obviously this was not something we were doing wrong. \r
\r
Lastly, and really not all that important, the clinic itself is very old and outdated. Doesn't make you feel like you should be paying such an outrageous price. \r
\r
We are now taking him to Hendersonville Animal Hospital and LOVE it. Very attentive to all the animals, answers all my questions and makes sure I know what is going on. The vets, assistants and even the people at the front desks really know their stuff. My puppy loves it there! The building is brand new and up to date and it is more reasonably priced. Vaccinations and an actual exam are $87 for our puppy. They also successfully cut his nails and made him feel more comfortable with the process. \r
