DR. BESHOY RAFLA AT QUEENS ANIMAL/VETERINARY HOSPITAL KILLED MY BABY DOG!!! On August 10, 2013, I fell in love with a 3-mponth old yorkie at US Pets on Steinway St. so I brought him for $1550 and named him Ajinko. As I was leaving the store, they suddenly handed me a plastic bag with two containers, one with a white liquid and another with a pink one. When I asked what they were for, the guy said they were antibiotics for a cold which I thought was a bit strange. Sure enough, one week later, I had to rush my poor baby to the Pearl Animal Hospital in Forest Hills since they are the only one open 24/7 in Queens where he was diagnosed with Aspiration Pneumonia. The vet at the hospital said that it surely had the malady when we bought but since it is still a puppy and does not have a fully formed immune system, it could not fight the disease on its own. I went back to the store to complain and was told I was crazy and that the puppy was healthy when I bought it. A guy there even said that they give all the animals they sell antibiotics to administer at home which the vet at the hospital said was unheard of and proved that the dog was already sick when I bought it. Of course, the hospital asked me for another 2200 as deposit for all the needed care and tests. I paid it as I just wanted my baby back to health. They even permitted me to go back to the rooms where the animals are treated and was impressed at how clean and clinical it looked with an impressive array of what looked like state of the art equipment.\r
I called Don, the pet store owner the next morning and he told me to immediately transfer my baby to their own vet at the Queens Animal/Veterinary Hospital to activate the healthcare agreement they had with each other. The original hospital’s discharge papers indicated that my baby was doing better so I left him with a Dr. Beshoy Rafla at the Queens Animal/Veterinary Hospital. I asked to use their restroom and had to go through the back rooms and saw how badly maintained it was, smelling of feces and urine. I even inspected the animal cages and found some with animals sitting in their own bodily waste. One hour after I had left my baby at the Queens Animal/Veterinary Hospital, I got a call from Dr., Rafla who informed me that he had injected antibiotics into my baby boy and that my baby boy started convulsing and that he was trying to resuscitate him. Then a few minutes after, an assistant called and informed me that my baby had DIED!!! ONE HOUR AFTER I HAD LEFT MY BABY IN THEIR CARE, HE WAS DEAD!!! I felt so distressed that I spent the whole afternoon crying, since I thought that if I had only left my baby at the Pearl Animal Hospital and had not listened to Don, the pet store owner, my baby would still be alive. US PETS obviously has an agreement with Queens Animal Hospital to certify that the dogs it sells are fit for sale to circumvent the Pet Lemon Law. I am still fuming at Dr. Beshoy Rafla for what surely is a case of animal medical malpractice. And even though I had had my baby for only a week, I still feel a sense of deep loss. I am now exploring what I can do to prevent this from happening to other animal lovers who might bring their pets to the Queens Animal/Veterinary Hospital. Again, DR. BESHOY RAFLA AT QUEENS ANIMAL/VETERINARY HOSPITAL KILLED MY BABY DOG!!! \r
