I got to see Tracy Arm from the deck of the Oosterdam, a cruise ship in the Hoilland America Line. The trip up was cloudy and overcast, with a lot of fog. The captain wasn't even sure if we'd be abl;e to ener the fjord because of the fog and mist. When we got there, the fog had lifted and we were able to make the entire trip in for an upclose look at the Sawyer Glacier, a truly beautiful sight. The ship went in through the narrow, high hill lined fjord at a slow speed, giving the passengers a great opportunity to see the Alaskan landscape up close. And wonderful it was. High green mountounous hills with large areas of colorful rocks, pristene skies and water and an almosy mystical aura. It was a fantastic bit of unspoiled terrain.
