I lived in Mirada apartments for a year. I moved out last week. With all good and bad memories, I'd NOT suggest this residence to anyone, due to the following reasons :\r

1. Mirada is expensive in compare to similar residences in La Jolla Colony. You most probably can find a more luxurious residence with similar rent, if you start looking early (in Juneor July). In late August or september, Mirada is the only residence with vacant apartments though. But that also tells something about how expensive Mirada is.\r

2. Mirada is much more crowded and more noisy in compare to other residences in the neighborhood. Now I'm living in residence cross the street, and I'm relieved from the noise late at night and early in the morning. According to the landladies, the apartment I was living in (2226) was one of the least noisy ones, so I can not imagine how much more noisy the rest of them are.\r

3. Mirada is probably the only residence in neighborhood that would charge you a full extra 30 day rent, if you want to move from one of their 1 bedroom apartments to one of their 2 bedrooms. This was originally my first reason for moving out, but now I'm really glad that I did move out.\r

4. With all respect,. the landladies at Mirada residence are NOT trustworthy : They would make wrong promises, and they only care about their self benefit, completely ignoring their residents. In my case they deceived me to turn in my keys 38 days before my move out day (I had to move early) and they promised me to find another residence within a week and return me back the rest of my rent. They ended up charging me for the whole 38 days. I blame myself for being decieved and returning the key early.\r

5. The laundry cost in mirada is 1.5+1.75 = 3.25, while in the more luxurious place that I'm living in, cross the street, the total cost is 1.25$. I'm not talking about the 2$ difference, but it tells me something about principals of how mirada is managed.
