Review content:
Every little girl dreams of her wedding day and how perfect it will be. Our daughter had that fairytale ideal in her mind as well, but none of us truly anticipated the perfect reality that Shirley and Cofield Hilburn, the proprietors of the Victorian Crow's Nest, created for us. Every aspect of the wedding day was meticulously planned, but all aspects seemed effortless and flowed steadily and smoothly thanks to the Hilburns and their wonderful staff. Shirley kept saying that details would create the elegant ambiance we desired, and she was right. The pavilion aisles and gazebo arch were adorned with gorgeous combinations of greenery, flowers and ribbons that accentuated our daughter's colors. Even the table where Candace and Mike did their sand ceremony was beautifully draped in shimmering, delicate fabrics that highlighted the simplicity of that part of the service. The ballroom was breathtaking with ecru-colored lace tablecloths atop tables adorned with spectacular arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, and orchids. The buffet dessert table featured the elegant wedding cake along with many cakes, cupcakes, and cookies all displayed so beautifully that just looking at them was a feast for the eyes. The buffet dinner was a gourmet experience. All aspects were first rate from the beautiful presentation to the delicious taste. I can't say how much people have raved about the food, how much they genuinely enjoyed their dining experience and the quality and diversity of the entree options. I could go on and on about the many personal touches that Shirley suggested that made the wedding so memorable and personal like all the picture frames she provided, and we filled with special photos of the bride and groom; the memory table she created to honor Candace's grandparents who were so influential in her life; the coordination of a special surprise song for the bride and groom during the wedding ceremony that entailed working with singers, the DJ, the entire wedding party, and many children from the audience. In other words, she suggested wonderful ideas herself and welcomed any special requests we had as well. I sincerely want to thank Cofield and Shirley and their entire staff from the chefs and kitchen staff to the designers to the bartenders to the servers; all of you were so professional, warm, creative, and accommodating. Additionally, the vendors that we found through the VCN were first rate, and we highly recommend them(Darryl and Janice Hare-hair and make-up; Wescottage Music-live music from a string quartet; Nathan Wilkins-DJ/Reception Master of Ceremony). All in all, if you are looking for a magical experience that you will never forget, go to the VCN. The fairytale awaits you!\r \r Andee and Dennis Woodcock, parents of the bride August 31, 2013\r \r
