Bait and switch company. Came in for an alternator replacement. $90 diagnostic charge he says will be waived if choose to have any work done. Fee was never waived. I knew I needed an alternator...that is why I brought the car to an auto shop in the first place, specifically one that specializes in Electrics! Fee was not waived. Same guy checked me in and checked me out 3 days later, with the same smile one his face he said $400++ ... For a $70 alternator and two bolts? He told me it came with a lifetime warranty, didn't specify if that was labor or just the part, but this made me feel better about paying so much $$. 1 year and a handful of days later, the alternator went out on me. No problem I says, lifetime warranty at Briggs. Once again I knew the alternator was out, I tested it my self this time. Brought it back, he says that he will take care of me. I come in the next morning, guy tells me ""you need a new alternator, that'll be about $380"" Said he was giving me a discount since I had been in before. Once again this is the same guy who told me he would waive a $90 inspection fee, and that the alternator had a lifetime warranty. Neither of which turned out to be true. He said it had a 1 year warranty, and I was literally less than a week past my 1 year. So ironic, doesn't the warranty always expire right before something starts to fail. Ended up charging me $35 to tell me ONCE AGAIN that my alternator was bad. Terrible practice. Bait and Switch. Since my experience at Briggs; I have changed career paths and now work as customer service for a small family owned automotive repair shop. I was so disgusted by the way I was treated, I decided I would make it my life goal to ensure people have a choice for auto repair, and do not have to deal with shady business practices like this.
