Review content:
Visited Raj Makam for evaluation of a minor rectal discharge. His office has signs all over saying that you are responsible for paying the bill. He spoke for 5 minutes while laughing and saying ""you didn't do any online research about your problem before coming here""; inappropriately loud so patients in other rooms could hear him. I can tell cause I heard him talk to patients in other room while I waited in my room; think about your information privacy here. He did not inspect the problem area; straight away asked me to schedule a colonoscopy (costs $2000 & of course I am responsible for it) because he does not do guesswork anymore since they own the colonoscopy equipment in the office. I told him that I have burping issues and his genius guesswork response was ""stop drinking milk""; how about doing some diagnosis or tests or asking me whether I even drink milk at the first place. It felt like I went to a sales/marketing office selling colonoscopy procedure rather than feeling like going to a specialist who would put in the effort to understand my problem to do some initial diagnosis during my visit. I heard similar experience from other colleague of mine. Next, he sent me $240 bill for this level of consultation experience. In all honesty, I am questioning why should I owe him so much money for 5 minutes of his time to market a higher billing procedure? By the way, I eventually ended up doing online research, took corrective measures (diet, exercise, OTC meds) and my problem is completely resolved in a matter of 3-4 weeks from that consultation visit.
