This is a long review and if you don't want to read the whole thing I'll summarize: Great food, amazing beer selection, friendly and welcoming service. Confusing layout but easy to get around if you look for signs which are posted everywhere. And don't expect to waltz in on a weekend and get a table without waiting. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation.\r

A few friends have been telling me to check this place out since I'm a big fan of micro brews and Belgian beers, so being that this weekend they had a Dogfish Head event I decided to finally stop in. \r

Well it was our first time there so I was a little confused by the layout of the building. We went in through the back near the parking lot and I was impressed by the outdoor seating. The deck is beautiful and covered and even though it was oppressively hot outside I thought we would sit out there since there were fans on the ceiling. There were a few people sitting out there and we roamed around looking for a table... but they all had reserved signs on them! I guess that's a pretty good sign about the popularity of the place. There were two entrances and I wasn't sure which one to use, but thankfully there was a sign on one of the doors stating that it was for employee use only. The door that we were supposed to use lead into the bar area and it was packed, but not obnoxiously loud. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, but I found the smell of the pack of men who had obviously been golfing recently to be a bit offensive, so we wandered around a bit till we saw a sign indicating the host desk. The host was pleasant but told us there was a 45 minute wait, which makes sense for a Saturday night with a Dogfish Head event going on. So we put in our names and headed back out to the bar.\r

I was so excited and overwhelmed by the beer selection! They have a book filled with bottled selections and a large list of draft beers. Surprisingly there were a lot of Dogfish Head beers on tap that I haven't had before. I decided to go with a flight, which is four choices of draft beers that came in a cool caddy with small paper indicating which one was which. Those golfers I mentioned earlier kinda ruined the bar experience for me, and I'm aware that it was no fault of the restaurant at all. They were smelly and obnoxious and they seemed to be quite upset about the fact that they couldn't sit outside on the deck... indicating to each other over and over again about how no one was sitting out there and that it didn't make sense that they couldn't. I wanted to tell them that they were obviously reserved, but my boyfriend told me to keep my mouth shut! Haha, he's right of course, but they were annoying. \r

The menu was huge and a bit overwhelming but our server was helpful in navigating through it. I ordered the Irish Onion soup which is their version of French Onion. It's Irish because they use Irish whiskey and stout beer, and it was seriously the best version I've ever had. Then we shared the Belgian mussels which came in a large covered pot with a side of frites (which are the Belgian version of fries) for dipping in the sauce. I also had a caprese salad from the specials list. It was very fresh and a perfect portion considering all the mussels and soup I just had. \r
\r
For dessert we shared the peach pie which our server recommended, and I will definitely be back for that. Apparently it's their specialty and you can order a whole pie of it for take out if you call ahead of time.\r

Overall our experience was great. The server was attentive and friendly, the decor and cleanliness of the place was perfect right down to bathrooms, and the food and atmosphere was perfect. If you visit this place I would advise that you make a reservation and give yourself some time to enjoy the place, also if you get as confused about the layout as I was just keep an eye out for signs and ask the friendly staff for directions.
