Swindllers and scam artists!!!!
When it comes to involving Planet in a sudden home repair issue, their only interest is in getting you to file a home-owners insurance claim. They try to tie in the home repair issue to an insurance claim that ""could get you a new bathroom"" or ""new kitchen"" etc. They will involve you in bilking your home-owners insurance policy for a home remodel idea that you didn't originally intend. In the meantime they bring in sub-contractors (who bill you directly for twice what a local contractor would ask) to create conditions that are more favorable to making the insurance adjusters agree to your claim. When this (usually) fails you are stuck with a half torn apart house, your original repair issue only partially fixed and an estimate from their company that is 3 to 4 times what a local contractor would charge to fix the same issue. They promise big discounts over the phone which they never deliver. Our job was to fix humming in the pipes, drywall damage due to a leaky shower drain and wax ring in an upstairs bathroom. First, Planet charged us $750 for a $74 water pressure regulator that took less than one hour to install (a $375 job at best). After we were denied our insurance claim, Planet's quote to fix these issues: replace 4 panels of drywall (with tape & texture, NO PAINT) plus repair the shower drain (I already fixed the toilet myself) $3300! I had a local licenced contractor fixt the drain for $407.81 and a local licenced drywaller repair the ceiling for $970.00 for a total of $1377.81. AND THIS WAS AFTER OVER-PAYING planet the $750 and their sub-contractor another $500 to remove moisture and mold.
These people prey on the vulnerable and their respective insurance companies. If they call you to set up a quote, your better off telling them to ""go to hell""!
