Here is the story and why I am not recommending Banfield to my friends.\r \r My dog was critically ill and was vomiting and pooping blood. He was not moving. Banfield gave me two prices for care. One without their wellness plan and one (cheaper) if I upgraded my current wellness plan. (The wellness plan has a one time set-up fee of $69.95 and I am now paying a monthly fee of $36.95 for the optimum for one year. By the way, when they provide the estimate, the one time fee and the monthly fee is included. This inflates the estimate by nearly $100.) I had signed up for the wellness program a month earlier when my pet had an abscess removed from his foot. During this visit, the Banfield vet provided intravenous fluids and at the end of the day I was sent to an excellent emergency clinic as Banfield closes at 6 p.m. South Peninsula Emergency Clinic diagnosed my dog's issue as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. He needed a transfusion of blood and antibiotics for the next 7 days.\r \r I would have
