Banfield The Pet Hospital in Mountian View 9/12/2008

I took my Jack Russell to Banfield for a routine check up prior to taking her to a boarding Kennel. I have used Banfield in two different States since I first purchased my dog. My dog has a weak trachea which sometimes causes her to cough but is otherwise not an issue. (Incidentally, the trachea problem was diagnosed by a Banfield vet in North Carolina.) The local (Mountain View) Banfield Vet called me and told me that my dog had the Bordatella Virus. I told her that this was not possible since my dog was well and had no symptoms. When I went to pick up my dog, I had to refuse treatment and basically tell the very young vet that her diagnosis was wrong. I had to insist that no treatment be given. From this experience I have learned to be careful of Banfield. \r \r I believe it is a fine wellness center as long as you purchase their plan and have a serious knowledge of your own pet's habits and health. By the way, when they provide the estimate, the one time fee and the monthly fee is included. This inflates the estimate by nearly $100.) I had signed up for the wellness program a month earlier when my pet had an abscess removed from his foot. During this visit, the Banfield vet provided intravenous fluids and at the end of the day I was sent to an excellent emergency clinic as Banfield closes at 6 p.m. South Peninsula Emergency Clinic diagnosed my dog's issue as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. He needed a transfusion of blood and antibiotics for the next 7 days.\r \r I would have more
