Review content:
I have more pain now than before I went to see Dr. Hurst. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. I waited 2 hours for some appointments in a lobby full of people...fyi, I arrived on time! They seem to overbook every time slot. Dr. Hurst is very nice, but nice doesn't mean that he gives the best care. He did my surgery after months of shots, removed one neuroma and left another one in even though he could have taken that one too! I have pain far worse than I ever had before the surgery. Also, he never mentioned that I needed to have a bunion removed or that I had an additional neuroma that needed to come out as well. \r \r And the pain is worse than before...and I developed a stump. Which basically means I'm stuck with this pain forever. Fortunately, I found another foot specialist that has educated me on realistic expectations, costs, etc. \r \r And then there are the costs that were NEVER explained. Rather than having a frank discussion about costs, he never mentioned it. The lady at the counter just says that will be your co-pay. Then I received a bill for $300+ in the mail and never ending collection calls until I was able to pay it. We are not impoverished in any way, but $300 at that time was not in the budget. Nobody discussed that in office procedures are not always covered by copays. This needs to be discussed before you have a procedure. PERIOD!\r \r \r With the lack of discussion on cost and lack of discussion on the realities following the surgery AND the ridiculous wait time to get my five minutes with him...In my opinion, this is not the place that I would send anyone I liked to...maybe my worst enemy. Like I said, he seems like a nice man, but that doesn't make him a great surgeon or that he has good business practices. I don't like saying negative things about others, but I felt obligated to share my experience.
