Review content:
I came into Companion Animal Hospital on October first of this year, and I had a great experience. I live in Independence and have my own vet, but was visiting friends in Overland Park with my dog and needed help. My 22 year old shih tzu was having problems and I was thinking it was time for her to be put down. I passed by the hospital unannounced and explained my problem and the vet tech was very helpful and sympathetic. My dog had lost complete hearing and sight over the last couple years, and just this week was not willing to eat or drink. She understood and provided tissues, explaining this is a very difficult time. Dr Reuter came in and did a full wellness exam, and discovered that she was severely dehydrated, with a very low blood pressure. He very nicely explained to me that she was older and he would be more than happy to put her on a low protein diet along with pain medication that ws safe to use every day, but I knew it would be expensive to keep her alive and honestly
