Review content:
We had a dinner in this restaurant and I?d like to share my experience. It was my first time in this restaurant and I didn?t choose it myself. So before the dinner I read the menu on the internet as well as the reviews. According to some reviews the food was good but the service so-so. But I still hoped for the best. I am a foreigner, I have been living in LA for 2 years and I don?t go out very often, so I decided to give it a try. I bought a fancy birthday cake for our dinner guest for $40 in Sweet Lady Jane and my husband gave it to the manager when we arrived. The cake disappeared mysteriously during our dinner. I had to ask several times about the cake and our guests were pretty nervous already. Finally the manager came and told me that the cake had been cut into pieces, that it was a mistake! ! He apologized and offered the substitution for the cake, but he said that we would have our own cake as well. I didn?t want to argue with him, because I didn?t want to ruin the nice evening for our guests, so I did my best not to show how upset I was. When we had almost finished our coffee the cake substitution arrived. It couldn?t be compared with Sweet lady Jane of course - a pile of cotton candy with a candle! And 5 minutes later we also got the remains of our own cake - four tiny little pieces. I still wonder - where is the rest? The cake was made for 6-8 people. And a special decoration was made on the cake with the name of the birthday person. So it?s very difficult to believe that the cake was just cut by mistake and served to some other clients as a regular dessert. It?s very strange, sad and even shocking that these things can happen in a decent Beverly Hills restaurant. Some time ago I?d worked as manager in a restaurant in a country that is considered to be developing and less refined (especially in comparison with Beverly Hills), but I can tell you for sure it couldn?t happen in my restaurant.
Pros: ambience
Cons: service
