If you want to learn about Hilo's history then this is the perfect museum to visit. It is located in the former First Hawaiian Bank building along Bayfront. You will see a movie about the famous tsunami that hit Hilo. Many of the museum docents who escort you around the exhibits, answer questions and provide interesting narration have lived through a tidal wave, so they know first-hand what it's like to survive one. I would recommend this museum to visitors that want to learn about Hilo's history.
