Interesting Exhibits 9/14/2005

This museum offers exhibits that take you back to the time of the tsunami that hit Hilo in 1946. More than 100 people lost their lives and a lot of buildings in Hilo were damaged. The museum has guides that take you through exhibits that feature phots, videos, and accounts of this devastating tsunami. Admission is under $10 per person and well worth it. more

Interesting and historical 9/13/2005

This museum displays exhibits that feature dramatic pictures, videos, and amazing survivor accounts of Hawaii's devastating tsunamis, namely the tsunami that hit Hilo on April 1, 1946. The tsunami struck with little warning claiming 159 lives and destroying more than 1,300 homes. This museum has displays that are self-guided. There is a small admission fee. more
