Dr. Amsterdam helped our geriatric cocker spaniel on numerous occasions. We truly believe that his care added another year to her life when she got hit by a car at age 14. Prior to going to AVS animal hospital, we had been using another vet to treat Honey Bun for congestive heart failure (unsuccessfully). We went to AVS Animal Hospital in an emergency when the dog got hit by a car. Not only did Dr. Amsterdam treat her broken arm, but he put her on the correct meds and the right dosages for her congestive heart failure. By doing that, he added time and quality to her life. It is obvious that he loves and cares for the animals as if they were his own. His medical knowledge is excellent, and his bedside manner is wonderful. In Honey Bun's last days at age 15, Dr. Amsterdam stayed by her side during the night and called us at 3 AM to give us an update on her condition. He made sure she was comfortable. We are very grateful to him and Ms. Carolyn for their love and care of our family mem
