Avs Animal Hospital

Sure the doctor might have a heart for animals, but not humans apparently. He told a family member that he's heard their sob story before when they took a pet in for an emergency visit. I don't understand how someone can be so cruel to a customer who is already very upset. What an awful person. more

Dr. Amsterdam is a great doctor. He has treated my dog for several years, once for surgery, also for a skin disease and she's a beautiful, healthy dog. I have also taken my father's dog for treatment which Dr. Amsterdam performed successfully. He's my pet doctor for everything and I recommend his services to anyone. more

Dr. Amsterdam has another side to him...in fact another life where he takes from people. He has rationalized the fact that he will not pay a debt as to "business". He said he will be able to live with himself and not think about how he has hurt another family. He said "even in church, I will have the ability to not think about it and not repent". He talks a big story about coming to this country and that he is an honorable man. He owes another family money and until he pays his debt....he is less than honorable!!! beware!!!! more

Dr. Amsterdam helped our geriatric cocker spaniel on numerous occasions. We truly believe that his care added another year to her life when she got hit by a car at age 14. Prior to going to AVS animal hospital, we had been using another vet to treat Honey Bun for congestive heart failure (unsuccessfully). We went to AVS Animal Hospital in an emergency when the dog got hit by a car. Not only did Dr. Amsterdam treat her broken arm, but he put her on the correct meds and the right dosages for her congestive heart failure. By doing that, he added time and quality to her life. It is obvious that he loves and cares for the animals as if they were his own. His medical knowledge is excellent, and his bedside manner is wonderful. In Honey Bun's last days at age 15, Dr. Amsterdam stayed by her side during the night and called us at 3 AM to give us an update on her condition. He made sure she was comfortable. I wanted to share my experience at AVS Animal Hospital.Dr.Amsterdam has gone above and beyond the call of duty for my babies[3 CATS]more times than I can remember.I have called him all time of day and night for emergencies or even for advice on a situation that one of my babies were going through at that time and he never complained.I heard one of his elderly clients talking at the clinic one day about how her husband had been ill and they were unable to bring their 5 dogs in for thier shots and Dr. Amsterdam went to their home after working all day in his clinic and took care of each one of them. That is the type of Vet that he is and I and many others rate him five stars. more

We have taken our cats here since he was the one who did the "free" spading since we adopted through Petsmart. He is a good doctor, has a love for animals. But, we were not happy with the fact that he and just one other person do all the work. It is not fair to my animals if they are not given top notch treatment when being seen by him. He has the lady from the front desk come in and take temps and help with meds, shots and getting the animals on the table. Then he comes out and trys to get the bill ready for you to pay. We spent to much time trying to understand our bill and get it paid than we did getting 2 cats treated with shots. We will not return to him. more
