I've had multiple disappointing encounters with Dr. Cain. He was very harsh towards me during my initial visit, talking to me in a very condescending manner, not giving me straight answers to my questions and continually trying to shorten our visit (I waited 45 minutes to see him for 8 minutes). He diagnosed me with Adult ADD and told me I was the ""perfect candidate for treatment"" but I was too fat. He told me to lose 50 pounds and get ""those nasty jawels"" off of my neck (my body fat is 16%, I'm 235 pounds but not obese). He gave me a target to reach for my BP and he intended to prescribe me Adderol if my pressure was where he wanted it. My BP was where he wanted it within a very short period of time but he refused to see me and I was forced to deal with his nursing staff over the phone. While they were cordial, they did inform me that even though I had met the requirements Dr. Cain set for me and even though he stood by his diagnosis that I was a ""perfect"" candidate for treatment he refuses to treat me. Furthermore, he said he would never treat me. Very irritated I made the nursing staff confirm that he did diagnose me with ADD, that he did give me a target to reach and that I did indeed reach that target and Dr. Cain still refused to see me or prescribe the medication that he himself said I was in need of. They said I was correct but that there was nothing I could do to change his mind. I am perplexed as well as offended, to be diagnosed with something knowing there's something that will help but not being able to get it is a terrible feeling\r
I will never go to Dr. Cain again and I would never recommend him to anyone. A Doctor who will not do what they acknowledge they should do and then refuses to ever treat you for what he diagnoses and stands by defies logic and potentially the health of his or her patients. There are many other capable Doctors in Austin, be advised about this one's incompetency.
