Review content:
We used to take our dogs to the animal clinic in Buckeye because that's where we grew up. In the past few years, we started going to Palm Valley Animal Clinic because we didn't want to make the drive anymore. Even prior to our most recent experience, I would've recommended this clinic, but we recently had to make the decision to euthanize our dog. It was one of the toughest decisions we've ever had to make, but Dr. Lipovitch and the staff at Palm Valley Animal Clinic helped us through this time with caring and compassion. I don't know if we could've done it without them. When I first called the clinic, Rhonda told me we couldn't get in until the next day. I was nearly hysterical on the phone, and she helped me as much as she could and made an appointment for 2:30 the next day. After we hung up, she called back within 10 minutes and asked if I could come in 2 hours later. I so appreciated that extra effort. When I arrived with our dog, they took us into an exam room immediately. Within seconds, we saw the vet tech (I feel terrible that I can't remember her name, but she was awesome), and minutes after that Dr. Lipovitch came in. He spent at least 1/2 an hour with me discussing options. My husband arrived, and we must have been there at least an hour before we decided that euthanasia was the best option. We were never rushed or pushed to do one thing or the other, even though I'm pretty sure they squeezed us in and probably needed the room. We decided that euthanasia was the best option for Xena, but we wanted to give our kids a chance to say goodbye. They asked us when we wanted to come back and when we came back a couple of hours later, they had a room ready for us in the back. As we walked back, Rhonda put her arm around me and consoled me as I sobbed. They said that we could either use the table or sit with her on the floor on a blanket that they had already laid down. We chose the floor. The same vet tech as earlier took Xena and put the catheter in. Then they just gave us time. When we were ready, Dr. Lipovitch came in, sat on the floor with us, and applied the anesthesia. The whole experience was so peaceful, and I watched my beautiful Xena go from pain to peaceful sleep in a matter of seconds. This was a heartbreaking experience, but Palm Valley Animal Clinic gave us everything we need to make it through. Most importantly, they gave us time. We were never rushed. Whether you need routine or extraordinary animal care, this clinic is a place where animals are loved and respected and so are the people who love them. Pros: caring, friendly staff
