Thought I was ten weeks pregnant with my first baby when we had our first ultrasound with Associates in Womens Health. After that first ultrasound, we learned that the baby was actually only 6 weeks, and that it was possible it had stopped growing. Instead of performing additional tests, the doctor adopted a ""wait and see"" attitude. I learned two months post miscarriage that there WERE tests they could have done to determine if a m/c was inevitable. I started spotting dark brown on a Sun, but didn't call the office because that can sometimes be normal. I spotted bright red on Mon, and DID call, but was given the brush off, saying that that can sometimes be normal too. Tues, I passed a clot, called the office and was told to come in to the office the next AM. I was given no information about what may be happening to me, and wasn't even told if it could be the beginnings of a m/c. Later Tues. night, I began cramping and called the office again. FOUR hours later, I received a phone call from the doctor, who, the nurse told me, had ""been in surgery"". In the office the next AM, I actively starting miscarrying. Two nurses were sympathetic, but doctor was cold and clinical. Went in for regular bloodwork post-m/c to monitor hormone levels, but never saw doctor until *I* made an appointment about a month after the m/c. Doctor told me they usually don't schedule a follow up until after the hormone levels were 0, and mine took ""longer than usual"". I've since asked other women who have m/c, & learned that I did NOT take longer than normal. Also, the office staff doesn't know what else is going on in the office. Right after the 2nd follow up, I received a call from a nurse to schedule a m/c followup, the one I had already had two weeks prior. Also, two weeks post-m/c, I experienced some strange symptoms, called the office, and was told that sometimes pregnant women experience those symptoms. I had to explain, to my own Dr's office, that I had m/c.Stay away from this office. Pros: Nice receptionist, two caring nurses (out of many), phlebotomist is excellent. Cons: Uncaring doctors who don't give you all the facts, incompetent office staff and nurses.
