I'm from Manhattan, NY, and if you want good authentic Italian food you have to go to Little Italy. Papa Joe's is like that - Good authentic Italian food. Nice looking place to eat in and bring a date. The seafood special is primo.
The kitchen is open and off to the left side, with large ovens and stoves, with a center island for cooks to prepare meals, and a huge walk-in refrigerator where the food is stored. I have eaten there on numerous occasions and will continue to do so. I recommend it. If you're looking for a fast food low budget restaurant, this may not be the place to go, but if you're willing to spend about $25 for some authentic Italian food in a place where you can relax and enjoy a nice meal, this is the place. Very romantic in the evenings. Smaller more secluded seating areas are nice if you want to take a first date.
