Papa Joes Italian Restaurant

I'm from Manhattan, NY, and if you want good authentic Italian food you have to go to Little Italy. Papa Joe's is like that - Good authentic Italian food. Nice looking place to eat in and bring a date. The seafood special is primo. The kitchen is open and off to the left side, with large ovens and stoves, with a center island for cooks to prepare meals, and a huge walk-in refrigerator where the food is stored. I have eaten there on numerous occasions and will continue to do so. I recommend it. If you're looking for a fast food low budget restaurant, this may not be the place to go, but if you're willing to spend about $25 for some authentic Italian food in a place where you can relax and enjoy a nice meal, this is the place. Very romantic in the evenings. Smaller more secluded seating areas are nice if you want to take a first date. more

My family and I dined there last week and I have to say WOW! I am from Sicily and I am always on the search for real Sicilian food, and believe me it is hard to find. Here the portions are huge, the food is outstanding, and the service was great. You can expect to go home with left overs enough to feed yourself two more times. What a great family atmosphere. What a great dining experience! I will taking my family an hour drive from St. Petersburg at least once a month to enjoy this place again. Ok what the hell did you eat when you were there? The food here is much like all food in Brooksville... There are a bunch of 16 and 17 year old kids working there, slopping together meals in the back. The food is not that great. It is prepared poorly, I would not like to eat here again. I had a steak from there and it was full of FAT (no not marbled) and they poured like a bag of brown gravy (yes the kind you put on mashed potatoes) all over the steak. I absolutely positively do not recommend anyone to eat here. You're better off getting a pizza from the gas station across the street. By the time you walk out of this restaurant you will have spent more than you wanted to as well. more

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the bay area just a short drive to Brooksville. The food is fantastic, excellent taste and quality. The portions are generous, and service is generally good. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and would highly recommend it for a casual dinner or a Saturday night out with the group. This is food like I recall having with Italian families in New York...first generation Americans. This is mangia kind of food. The ingredients are fresh, the salads are works of art, and the portions are like Mama used to make. The staff treats you like you have come home! more
