We have been very happy with Dearborn. I recently took my cat on a Saturday morning at 9am with no appointment; there were 6 people in front of me but I was still out the door by 10. I commented on the quick service to the vet and was told it depends on the type of cases they have. These vets spend time with your pet, not just rushing in and rushing out of the room. So if there is a pet who needs a lot of attention they will do that. When I have a long wait I just tell myself someone else's pet is getting really good care and I'd want the same for my babies. I really liked Dr Ellington, she was super considerate and caring. I liked it that she took an ear swab and looked at it under a microscope right there in the same room. This place is really laid back; the vet took a phone call during my visit, a clinic worker came in and out a couple of times. None of these things bothered me in the least and I enjoy the family feel of Dearborn. It's not as fancy as some of the intown vets but it's very reasonable. At least you're not paying for the decor or any BMWs in the parking lot. We took our dog to to Briarcliff for a limp, they did an exam, took one x-ray and gave us some pills and it was $500. Our visits to Dearborn usually run in the $80 range (although only two visits so far). The surgery that Briarcliff wanted $450-$600 for (removal of cyst) will be $250 at Dearborn. The only slightly negative thing I'd say is the waiting room is small and if there are more than 6 or 7 dogs it can get crowded. There was an aggressive dog in the waiting room when I was there but the owner did take it outside whenever another dog came in. I had a cat in a carrier so it wasn't a big deal. The staff was very friendly when I was there. Pros: Great vets and reasonable prices Cons: small waiting area
