Review content:
I have reviewed every hour and decision made during the short 48 hours during which my two year-old Portuguese Water Dog became critically ill over July fourth weekend, and my conscience in assuaged in knowing that he received the best treatment available in the Pacific Northwest at the VCA Emergency Department. From the moment in which he was carried back to the intensive care area to the time in which we made the sad decision to end his suffering, our small family was supported by professional and compassionate clinicians and staff. A heartfelt thanks to them for understanding and anticipating our needs, endless questions, and frantic concerns. Most importantly, the staff allowed us to say goodbye to our pet with respect, on our own terms, and as a family. This act of kindness deserves an accolade, in my opinion.
