I took my car there for an oil change on a Saturday afternoon. Empty bays...figured it'd be a quick in and out. After 45 minutes, they told me the car was overdue for a safety inspection. Although I'd bought the car only 11 months ago, I told them to go ahead and do it. 20 minutes later they told me it had failed the inspection, due to bald tires. They gave me a $700 estimate for a new set. \r

I told them that I wasn't about to make a decision w/out consulting my husband, paid them $42, and left, only to discover they'd removed the sticker from the windshield, which meant I had to drive to work on Sunday and Monday risking a ticket. A bit of research revealed that although the tires certainly needed to be replaced, they were on the border of legally acceptable, and the car should have passed the inspection.\r

They're the only game in town on Sunday, but I took the risk, and bought tires from someone else on Monday - better tires, for less money, with no add-on charges for balancing a
