It was an easy thing.... My German shepherd stole some chocolates. Unfortunately it was not the first time, and I did not have any peroxide, and took her there. $ 1,000 later and after an ultrasound (it was chocolate!) , she threw up but they wanted to keep her overnight just to be sure she was going to be allright, saying that she could have heart issues. The vet tech was quite snotty like if I were an idiot when she was talking to me. Just did not like them. DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPER GIVING THEM THE RIGHT TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT! They take advantage of the fact that you are in distress to charge you whatever they can think of! I did not listen to them, but took her to the Emergency Clinic in Frederick, where I should have gone anyway, and they checked her out, and her heart rate was normal.
