A few months ago I came across a black lab/pit bull mix on the side of a busy road. He was only walking on 3 legs, so I pulled over assuming he'd been hit by a car. I called several vets around Baton Rouge, most said they were not taking new clients. Then I called Azalea Lakes and they were so friendly and let my bring the dog in right away even though they were about to close and I was on the other side of town. I am a student at LSU, and don't have much money to spend and didn't intend on keeping the dog, but I wanted to help him. The next day, the vet said that the dog had actually been shot in the leg and the bullet was still lodged in his leg. She worked with me and we were able to get the dog vaccinated, neutered, the bullet out and leg wrapped up for a fraction of the cost any other vet would have charged. I had to make several trips out there because he kept opening the wound and they were so nice and wonderful to work with. I have nothing but great things to say about the
