We sent our cat to this vet to be fixed. Well after attempting the surgery, they called to inform us that the cat was already fixed. (We did not get our cat fixed). Months later, our cat had kittens. We called Azalea Lake and was told that they will call us back. But we did not get a call back. We tried again and was told the same thing. So the cat has one more litter, and we again tried to call and speak to someone about the matter and was told, again (with attitude), that they will call us back. We only wanted them to fix the cat and could not get anyone to have a simple conversation about the situation. They just don't care. Ofcourse, the cat has been fixed by a Vet who does care to actually do the job. SO SAD :( more

I love these doctors!! I wish I had known about them years ago. I have a very difficult 20 pound cat that was usually a terror at the vet but the first time I brought her in to Dr. Susie she was very calm and just lay there while Dr. Susie checked her out. I have a rescued Persian cat and a teacup poodle that have seen each of the doctors at Azalea and they love all of the ladies. The office staff is awesome, also. I would highly recommend Azalea Lakes to anyone. more

Everyone at the clinic is so helpful! They care about the babies brought in and treat them that way! They understand that these "pets" are apart of your family and will give them the best care as if they were there own. I will never leave! Thank you for all of you wonderful experiences! more

All-around wonderful! 5/3/2010

This clinic is incredible. They are always busy but they always make time for my pet. They are busy because they are great - Dr. Suzie has been around over 15 years and still does her own emergencies, even for people who aren't her own clients. The other vets are so sweet and the staff are angels, no matter how much we pester them when we're worried about our pets. :) more

Amazing Care 4/23/2010

My family had just adopted a small puppy that became sick with a stomach flu. My Vets office was closed and instead of taking the new puppy to an Emergancy Pet Hospital, I called Azalea Lakes, The Vet met at the office, and took our sick puppy home with her. The puppy ended up staying at the vet office for 4 days on an IV. I was thankful for the care they gave our sick pup, but dreading the cost of all this care. When she was finally well enough to bring home, my bill was much MUCH lower than I had expected. I have found a new vet! more

Front Office Staff 3/8/2010

I have used this vet for almost 10 years. However, i recently came in contact with what must be a new staff member at the front desk. She was very rude and showed no compassion for people having a sick pet. I hate to leave Dr. Suzy, but i will be finding a new vet. The front office make the first impression, and thanks to Nicole, it was a very bad one. more

Office people can kill a business! 2/17/2010

I have used Azalea Lake Vet Clinic for 16 years and I love the doctors there - but I called today, February 17, 2010 and they must have a new office lady. She was really rude - and I have been a customer for years...\r I will be looking for another vet for my animals.\r \r What happened to Candy? more

Azalea Lake Veterinary Clinic is an Awesome Place 10/6/2009

When I got my first dog, a Lhasa Apso, I took her to Azalea Lakes for her first pet visit. Everyone there was so nice & knowledeable. They made me & my puppy feel safe and I knew she would be cared for.\r \r I have since gotten 2 more Lhasa's and Dr. Suzy sees them all in one trip. We love the people at Azalea Lakes and the same team that was there three yrs ago are still there today. I refuse to take my babies anywhere else. more

Azalea Lake Veterinary Clinic 9/28/2009

My sister found a stray shitzu type dog that was in poor condition. My niece took the dog to several vets and no one wanted to help. She was upset at the thought of taking him to the pound. She took him to Azalea Lakes and they took him in, agreed to give him all of this shots and even found a groomer that came in and groomed the dog. They agreed to board the dog until a new owner was found and only charged $100 for all of this. A new owner was found and the dog is now healthy, groomed and has a great home thanks to Azalea Lakes. more

Poor Max 5/29/2009

My moms dog had started to go blind we noticed he would run into things. The next thing he had started to walk in circles and also use the restroom without control. My mom called them on the weekend.... to see what they could do.... they brought him straight in and found fluid behind his ear... and that was what was causing the problem they tried to fix it sadly a little while later we had to put him to sleep. But azalea lakes did everything they could they kept watch over him during the weekend to try to fix it. Not to mention my mom had just bought a new house and didn't really have alot of money at the time. They are wonderful caring people. I have brought my animals there since then and actually was just looking them up in the yellow pages for my cat to get a check up. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a vet who actually cares about the animal. more

Amazing People and Affordable 4/21/2009

A few months ago I came across a black lab/pit bull mix on the side of a busy road. He was only walking on 3 legs, so I pulled over assuming he'd been hit by a car. I called several vets around Baton Rouge, most said they were not taking new clients. Then I called Azalea Lakes and they were so friendly and let my bring the dog in right away even though they were about to close and I was on the other side of town. I am a student at LSU, and don't have much money to spend and didn't intend on keeping the dog, but I wanted to help him. The next day, the vet said that the dog had actually been shot in the leg and the bullet was still lodged in his leg. She worked with me and we were able to get the dog vaccinated, neutered, the bullet out and leg wrapped up for a fraction of the cost any other vet would have charged. I had to make several trips out there because he kept opening the wound and they were so nice and wonderful to work with. I have nothing but great things to say about the more

Spaying/Neutering Services 3/23/2009

I took three strayed kittens to Azalea Lake to be fixed. The service was outstanding; everybody was very knowledgeable, helpful and nice, and the price was way below many Vets in Baton Rouge. The kittens did great and now we do not have to worry about unwanted kittens in the neighborhood.G de B more

Very nice Vet via phone call 2/23/2009

I have been calling different Vets to find out information about cropping the ears for my new boxer. I called Azalea Lake Vet Clinic and they were so nice! They not only told me the information i needed to know about them cropping the ears but also told me a few extra tips on just basic care for my new dog. I also asked for pictures of work they have done and she told me she may have a few. I look forward to meeting them and seeing how good they are, but just based on the phone call, they get a ""highly recommended"" in my vote!!! Pros: extremely nice Cons: need a website for pictures, services, ext... more

During the hurricane my dog was in a horrible accident - had to have his tail removed...these people took him in - working under generator power ONLY - and did the surgery while housing lots of other dogs that were sheltered there from the storm...my vet refused to see me and had received his power on earlier this day - I NO LONGER use him, from now on Azalea Lake Veterinary Clinic will be my choice for all of my pets...\r THANKS!!! more
