As opposed to the last comment, I had a very good experience with taking my exotic pet to Dewitt Veterinary Hospital. I have been a long time chinchilla owner and I found the vet and staff were very knowledgable and helpful. I found the cost to be reasonable and very comperable to the other faculities I've gone to. \r I was able to get an appointment within the next day and found the hospital very easy to locate. The veterinarian was very kind and seemed to really care about my pet. I've been to quite a few vets over my lifetime of owning pets and I can honestly say I felt very comfortable with my pets care. They did need to order the medications for my pet as I have found that with exotics that is usually the case. They informed me that its because most all of the medications including over the counter medications come in a strength to large for a chinchilla. The medications need to be compounded into a dose small enough so it is safe for my pet. That requires the use of a outside phar
