I attended the Dental assisting program at Apollo in Portland and finished in 2009 with a 3.0 gpa. I finished my externship in Jan. and didn't recieve my diploma until September! I called and emailed and finally I had to tell them I would sue them if I didn't get it so they finally sent it to me. Even though I live in Washington they said they could help find a job. LIE!!! No one would help me and it is now 2011 and I still don't have a job in the dental field. No employer takes this education seriously! it was worst 13,000 dollars I ever spent! I found out that the local community colleges let you work on real patients and at Apollo you work on only dummies! The externship they sent me up with was a joke, the dentist couldn't speak english very well and they never let work on real patients because I wasn't registered in the state of Washington as a dental assistant, and you can not register until you have graduated! I thought I was on the road to a new career but now I am working a lo
