Recently I had several plumbing companies provide me with estimates for a water treatment system. The first company came out, filled an Avon bottle with water and said they would be in touch......never heard back from them. The second company sent a guy who was nice and gave me a price right away but didn't seem to know what he was talking about--he told me I needed a water softener and an acid neutralizer without even testing my water!! I then had FH Furr come out. Their guy actually took the time to test my water for hardness and pH on the spot...allowing me to watch and see the results. The pH was nearly perfect so I didn't need an acid neutralizer (woo hoo!) but the hardness was really high as I suspected. He then explained what causes hard water, its effects and my treatment options. He was able to answer every question I had in a very clear and concise manner. They quoted me a price which seemed competitive but I had another company scheduled to give me a final estimate later tha
