I recently took my car in for a brake job. They replaced the 2 front rotors and brake pads. The bill came to over $500. For the sake of comparison, I recently had the same brake job done on my wife's car (at a non-dealership mechanic), and it was $400 which was more in line with what I was expecting to pay. So curiosity got the better of me and I called the local Infiniti dealership to see what this same brake job would cost in terms of expensive "dealership" dollars. They said $500. Now why would I take my car to a place who charges the same as the dealership?? Why wouldn't I just take my car back to the dealership, get OEM parts, manufacturer warranty and work done by the techs who know my car best????? Christian Brothers did the work just fine, but they are too expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r By the way my experience isn't isolated it seems... \r I told my story to another car guy at work, and he said he had exactly the same experience at another Christian Brothers.
