Review content:
Although the Banfield nurses are nice, the clinic tends to want to run very expensive and unnecessary tests...no matter what the issue is. As a new customer, they will often give you tips to save money (e.g., don't buy this med from us, get children's Benadryl instead). This soon stops and is replaced by their recommendations for expensive tests. We once were advised to get activated charcoal and a blood test (total: $190) for our dog who had eaten 2 oz. of chocolate. When we opted for only the charcoal, they informed us of the need to get an IV as well (I guess our $80 bill hadn't met their quota - new total: $220). When we point blank asked them "What are the chances of him being sick given the amount her ate?", they said "It's very unlikely" (yet they still wanted to run all the tests). This is one of the most expensive vets in Gainesville and their wellness plans never cover the special tests they want to run. Your "savings" as listed on the Wellness Plan look so great because thei
