I was 17...a senior in high school...and never expected to be diagnosed with cancer. But I was, with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It was the scariest thing I have ever heard in my life. Not to mention that I found out in a horrible way, from a surgeon with horrible bedside manner. But the moment I walked into the cancer center, I felt better. They basically became my family. The receptionists were ALWAYS friendly, and remembered me everytime I came in. Not to mention the lab techs, and the nurses. The Nurses were the ones who mentally saved me. I remember bawling and bawling because I was so scared and two of my favorites took me into an empty room and just held me. It was amazing, and probably the reason I am here today. Dr. Bar-Lev was absolutely PHENOMONAL. He was intimidating at first, because he didn't show much emotion, but I knew he really cared.
