Considering a close relative is a veterinarian, this was the first time in a long time my boyfriend and I had to see one, because we had only recently moved to Austin for college. We knew from experience in the field that as soon as we chatted with the staff on the phone and came in that this was a great, clean, professional clinic.\r
Our cat, unknowingly to her owners, had eaten over 20 hair scrunchies over a few months and started to become ill. She acted entirely normal, other than some vomiting. We took her in to Dr. Smith to see what was wrong with her, and from the advice of our close relative, see if she possibly needed emergency surgery. Dr. Smith was so nice and compassionate, he could tell after a physical examination that she had eaten a foreign body, and to save some college kids some money he didn't perform any x-rays or tests, and even talked on the phone to her normal vet to assure she was stable enough to travel to him for her surgery!
