Our family has been going to Dr. Lackey's since 1984, and YES we often had to wait a long time, but she took just as long with us as we needed. She works there by herself and sometimes she does get behind. If an emergency comes in, she takes it. I also happen to know that other vets in Pender Co will send their OWN PATIENTS to her if they have an emergency they don't want to see or the patitent does not have money. Dr Lackey will see them because she is concerned about the pet. Like I said too, we have been going there a long time and the staff INCLUDING THE FRONT DESK have always been nice and as helpful as they could be to us. I have seen/heard more patients be ugly to the front desk people than the other way around! I have worked reception work before, and the receptionist has NO CONTROL of what goes on behind her.
