Scotts Hill Animal Hospital

Our family has been going to Dr. Lackey's since 1984, and YES we often had to wait a long time, but she took just as long with us as we needed. She works there by herself and sometimes she does get behind. If an emergency comes in, she takes it. I also happen to know that other vets in Pender Co will send their OWN PATIENTS to her if they have an emergency they don't want to see or the patitent does not have money. Dr Lackey will see them because she is concerned about the pet. Like I said too, we have been going there a long time and the staff INCLUDING THE FRONT DESK have always been nice and as helpful as they could be to us. I have seen/heard more patients be ugly to the front desk people than the other way around! I have worked reception work before, and the receptionist has NO CONTROL of what goes on behind her. more

DO NOT go here! Not only is it dirty and old looking, but the staff are NOT really that informed or friendly!!!!. They will not give you are correct price. I went here 2 times and one time my pet was cut with clippers and I was not told and my pet's skin got infected and I had to call and tell them and the front desk wanted to charge me to have me come back in for a office visit! This place Overcharges, the chairs look like they are torn up, the place looks un-clean, front staff unprofessional. All around not worth the money they charge you. At least they should buy some NEW furniture with those HIGH costs they charge!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!! \r FRONT DESK LADY WITH DARK HAIR, FROM THE NORTH IS RUDE!!!! HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO TELL YOU THAT FOR YOU TO GET IT DR. LACKEY??? SHE IS GOING TO RUN ALOT OF CUSTOMERS OFF, IF SHE HASN'T ALREADY!!!! more

I did not even bother taking my dogs there - when I called the first time the front desk lady was atrociously rude. Thinking she may have had a bad day I called two days later again, I got horrible service. I would not dare take my dogs to a place where people seem to hate their job and feel the need to be rude to inquiring clients. No thank you. more

Dr. Lackey has cared for our pets (dogs and cats) since the 1980s, and she has consistently given our animals great, thorough, attention. She has performed surgeries that saved our animals and extended their lives and quality of life by several years. Our relationship with her has been friendly, professional, and personal, as she always takes time to learn what the circumstances are surrounding her patients and how the family can best manage their health and happiness. more

We came to Scotts Hill Animal Hospital because our dog need stitches. Besides being charged as much as we would in an "emergency" surgery, we also felt we were "nickled and dimed" with charges most places would never charge you for. When we went to pick up our dog the next day, coming in at the time they specified, we had to wait 50 minutes to speak to the doctor before they would release our dog to us. Due to the fact that Scotts Hill want to charge unreasonable prices and do not find important to keep appointment times, we will be lookin elsewhere. We love our animals and want the best for them. We do not mind paying the money, but without the service and prices that are that extreme(almost $400 for stitches), we will be looking elsewhere. more

I adore the doctors and techs here but the front staff is unbelievably rude. Call and make an appointment you'll see for yourself. Not only is the front staff rude but you have to wait forever for your appointment. I was seen an hour later than my appointment. They even have a sign up at the front desk that says they are "Worth the Wait"... Seeing Dr. Lackey was worth the wait for me but dealing with the rude front staff is not. I'm taking mine to Surf City Animal Hos. more

This practice is staffed with nice people. Everything is very clean, very modern, very professional, and - unfortunately - very expensive.\r But of course it's alwayd that way, isn't it? more
