Our African Grey parrot, Louie, became very ill in the middle of the night. He literally was at death's door and we were calling everywhere trying to find someone who could see him at 3:00 AM!! An emergency 24x7 vet clinic near us did not have anyone available that could take care of a parrot. They recommended Monticello Animal Hospital. We called and left a voice mail around 2:30 AM. The vet called us back within just a few minutes and said that she would meet us at her clinic and see what she could do for Louie! We arrived there around 3:00 AM. She was able to administer an antibiotic and some fluids and said that we could take him to the Olathe Animal Hospital in a few hours when they opened, which we did. After 3 days in the hospital there, Louie came home. He is doing great now and back to normal - though we never did find out what was wrong with him! I credit Monticello for saving his life though - I believe that antibiotic and fluids she gave him made all the differenc
