I have been going to the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill for the past several years for haircuts and partial highlights. I have had a great experience every time I have visited. I have always gotten compliments on the cuts. The stylists are knowledgeable and do a great job on my "mind of its own" hair. They also have been very good at honoring my instructions that my hair has to look great without any assistance from me or "products". I do not do hair and frankly am a klutz at at. Keep in mind that it IS a school...and the stylists are learning so it does take longer than a regular salon as the work is checked by instructors, who will intervene if necessary. The little extra services - the mini-facial, the teas, the mini-massages or make-up sessions are a nice and welcome bonus. On the rare occasion that I misjudged how long the appointment would take, a staffer was kind enough to go out and feed the meter. The pricing is very reasonable.
