Review content:
I have had nothing but horrible experiences with Elmhurst Hospital Center. I gave birth to my daughter there and it was a total nightmare. The doctors were impatient, condescending and completely incompetent. They also completely ignored any requests or questions I had and ordered me around. I had nightmares about my birthing experience for months afterwards.\r

My mother was also hospitalized at Elmhurst for several months. They stalled her release for weeks while she lay bedridden in need of a transfer to another facility. The nurses ignored her and were cruel to her. She couldn't speak after she came out of her coma, so they assumed she couldn't hear them. They constantly mocked her and made nasty remarks when tending to her, all while she lay there helpless. She suffered significant emotional trauma. When visiting her, I would have to call for a nurse/doctor over and over again for upwards of an hour before they would even come talk to us, regardless of how empty the ward was at the time or how important the issue was.\r
\r
These are only two of many horrendous experiences my family has had at Elmhurst Hospital Center. The incompetence of the staff is absolutely staggering. Avoid this hospital at all costs.
Pros: Modern equipment in select wards
Cons: Uncaring Staff, Poor care, Long Waits
